Sanderson is one of the great names of British interior design.

Founded in London's West End in 1860, the company was initially an importer of wallcoverings from around the Globe, but soon responded to rising demand by establishing its own printing capacity.

Sanderson flourished during the Arts & Crafts period, even having a factory extension designed by Voysey, and this set the tone stylistically for much of what followed. By the 1960's, Sanderson was a design powerhouse with a tremendous reputation in wallpapers and fabrics. At this time, the Modernist building now known as the Sanderson Hotel on Berners Street was built to commemorate Sanderson's Centenary.

Through ownership changes and the ebbs and flows of fashion, Sanderson today remains a source of sought-after and instantly recognisable designs for the home.
